Friday Roundup

Happy Friday! What are you doing this weekend? I feel like we are finally settling into January and all the remnants of the holidays-guests, decorations, business-are finally all gone. I'm sure in a week I'll be wanting something more exciting, but for now, I'm happy for the lull. I'll be drinking lots of tea and catching up on all the things I let slide in December and above all, I want it to snow in Seattle!

Without further adieu, here are some fun things from all corners of the web.

Jewelry for those of us who had rock & gemstone collections as children.

Downton fans, I'm not sure why this is so funny. But it is. It's ridiculously hysterical in my opinion.

What American Girl doll did you have? I had Molly, and for those of you who grew up with me you'll notice that the description is pretty right on. Yikes.

Creative new cover design for Orwell's 1984

"GREATEST OF ALL TIME" are pretty strong words, but that's what Sports Illustrated is claiming about these 100 sports photos. There are definitely some pretty incredible shots in there.

"10 Things Extraordinary People Say Every Day" is an article definitely worth a read.

Pitchfork Interview with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein I've spent the last week watching season 2 of Portlandia on Netflix while working on taxes.

  1. I saw those tea eggs and knew you would love them! We should invent something like that.

  2. Hey, you wanted Molly! I listened to part of a Molly book today as one of my students read to me, the story where Molly and her two friends were pretending to be in a bomb shelter, while playing in their card table fort. Thought of you, Jen.
