Lessons learned from...

...watching 6 seasons of How I Met Your Mother  in just a couple of weeks.*
1. Marshall & Lily may be the only example of a younger couple on TV who's been together for 10+ years but is still portrayed as being in love. This makes me happy. See people, it's possible!
2. Friends can be family, they don't have to be related to you.
3. When making decisions, it can ben helpful to narrate your own life with a Bob Saget's voice in your head to help you try and see what you're doing will look like in the future.
4. Just because you're married, doesn't mean you need to stop having fun. This is something I've known, but I always like seeing things like this be reinforced.
5. Stories change over time and everyone's perspective on what happened is different. Just a good lesson in remembering that the way I perceive a situation may not always be the truth as seen from someone else.
6. The importance of letting your children know you. I love that this entire series is told from the perspective of the main character, Ted, telling his children the (very, very long version) of the story of how he met their mother. I love that he includes lots of failed relationships and the lessons learned from them, good and bad experiences with friends, and all of this is told with hindsight of 20 years.

*Don't judge me! I binge on Netflix while sorting photos and designing albums!

Then i was looking for you in the pic, and I decided you hair must be really dark cause Robin had to be you...and that is when I realized it wasnt you and a photo of How I Met Your Mother cast.

I love this show! Agree and agree!

  3. also, I was just looking at the faces and clothes...not who was holding hands with who in the in pic...because now that i look at it again I cant believe I made that mistake! hahaha Somehow the jacket and shirt colors and style that Marshall is wearing looks like something Jason would wear.
