In a wave of Christmas nostalgia, I found myself making cinnamon applesauce ornaments last week, something I remember doing as a child.
I have a vague memory of making these in a class in elementary school. I remember the teacher and parent helpers made SUCH a big deal about how these were not to eat and one boy still attempted to chomp on one anyway. In his defense, they do smell good enough to eat but we were in the process of decorating them and the one he bit into was covered in wet glue and glitter.
They're super easy to make, you just need cinnamon, applesauce and cloves. From baking them to hanging them on your tree, they'll make your house smell amazingly festive for the entire holiday season.
I ended up making a long garland of hearts and stars and hung it over my mantle.
You can find the recipe I used here...
I am adding this one to my weekend fun to-do list!
