Seattle Spotlight: My Favorite Deck

This week I was supposed to kick things into fall with a couple of posts about what we are looking forward to in the autumn season...but I can't bring myself to do it yet. Tomorrow is supposed to be 86 degrees in Seattle so I'm waiting another week :)

Instead, to celebrate the last hot weekend of summer, I'd like to share with you my favorite deck to dine on here in Seattle. When it comes to Northwest views and interesting boat-watching, you can't beat the outside seating at Ray's Cafe over in Shilshole. Ray's has full late-afternoon/evening sun exposure, the deck hangs out over the entrance from the Puget Sound into Lake Union, and their happy hour offers a great selection of small plates and seafood. We've been there a few times this summer and enjoyed ourselves tremendously, it's also a great spot to bring guests visiting from out of town. What is your favorite outdoor dining in Seattle? Patrick is partial to this place

  1. I need to try out Ray's!! Happy hour on a sunny deck is one of my favorite things to do in the summer in Seattle. One of my favorites is Ivar's on the north side of Lake Union. You are right on the water and get an excellent view of Lake Union.

    1. We love the Ivar's deck too! And it's only like 8 blocks from our new place in Wallingford, yay!

  2. I've been in love with Little Water Cantina as well ever since it opened a little over a year ago. I don't make it out to Ray's very often, but I should.

Ivar's Salmon House on Lake Union is also pretty great and good happy hour!

I could talk about Seattle patios all day though :)
