Happy Friday! We are going to take it easy this weekend, see family and just hang out. I'm definitely missing Jenny while she is on the road. Follow her Instagram here for updates from the tour.

2nd and 3rd Month Favorites: Baby Gear

I'm a little late on this but wanted to share some our favorite products from Myles' second and third months.

Little Giraffe blankie - Myles is obsessed with this blanket. He literally wants it covering his entire face when he goes to sleep. Little Giraffe products are pricey but very well made and oh so soft. We love the bath towel as well (thanks Jenny!).

Little Sophie the Giraffe - Mylo loves this simple toy and it's a great one for learning hand-eye coordination.

We tried to use the fancy swings and such but Mylo just likest to sit in this simple Monkey Seat from Target. I never even put the batteries in it to shake, he just likes to chill and watch me make dinner or fold clothes.

Britax B-Agile Stroller - We have loved this stroller and travel system! The stroller is very light and easy to maneuver in restaurants and shops or at the farmer's market. The only tip I have is to not purchase the Britax "Chaperone" car seat (so huge!) but the Britax "B-Safe" instead.

Medela Pump in Style, Medela Bottles and Boon Grass drying rack -  Now that I'm back at work, we are feeding Mylo pumped milk and have loved the whole Medela system. I have some other bottles but he mostly uses the Medela ones since they lock into the pump. We use the Boon drying system in the kitchen, which I think is adorable.
American Apparel Hoodie - We have two of these and he loves them. Unlike other sweatshirts with scratchy zippers this one is soft and plastic. He looks so little in this picture, it's a snug fit now.

Trumpette "Skater Socks" - I've LOVED these adorable little socks that look like Vans. They stay on 100% of the time and wash well.

Myles adores his play gym. I put it together about the time he turned one month and he has used it every day since. He is now able to reach for and even grab the little toys, it's been fun to see him learn to play with it.

PS. Our first month favorites.

Back to Work

Here is a song from PAPA that I'm liking to get us through this Wednesday. It's appropriately called "Put Me To Work" since this is my second week back on the job. Being back at the office has been an adjustment these past couple of weeks. I'm definitely enjoying being back in a routine and getting to wear nice clothes that don't smell like baby spit up four days a week! I also appreciate my time with Myles more now that we aren't together all the time, it's nice to get home at the end of the day and see that big smile. It's been so wonderful to have my mom and mother-in-law watching Myles for these first few weeks back, definitely has made the transition go more smoothly.

Unfortunately, Mylo has gone from sleeping 8-12 hours uninterrupted to waking up every three hours. I'm not entirely sure if this is to do with a growth spurt or what. I've read that when the mom goes back to work some babies start waking up more in the night to spend more time with her. We'll see if this keeps up or we can get back to the good ole' days! It also only took me a week and a half to forget to put the milk I pumped at work into the fridge when I got home...boooo. I woke up this morning and had to dump four bottles and pull some from the freezer. Lesson learned, must be more vigilant! ;)

Lockets

I love the idea of a locket as part of a bride's jewelry. It's the perfect way to include the memory of loved ones or honor the long marriages in your families. The locket in this photo holds the bride and groom's parent's wedding photos.

Also, the great thing with a locket, you don't necessarily have to wear it around your neck. It can easily be tied with a ribbon around your bouquet, be sewn into a hanky or secretly sown somewhere into your dress.

Here are some lovely lockets I've found on Etsy...

Audrey Hepburn

You may have noticed, Teresa and I both have a thing for Audrey, she's popped up in vintage photos on our Friday roundups and been mentioned in other posts.

One of the very first posts I wrote for the blog was about Audrey's Two for the Road, one of my all time favorite movies. You haven't seen it? Go watch it!

Not only is Audrey Hepburn one of my favorite actresses, she's greatly influenced my style and someone I greatly respect for her humanitarian work as a Goodwill Embassador for UNICEF.

Amazing Mascara: Trish McEvoy

My sister recently turned me on to this AMAZING "lash curling" mascara from Trish McEvoy. I am a huge fan of tubing mascaras because they come off so easily and don't leave residue all over my face. I've tried several brands that I've liked but this one absolutely takes the cake. My eyelashes look awesome, it's water resistant and does not flake off onto my face, and, best of all, when I splash warm water on my face at the end of the day it comes off in huge chunks in just a few seconds. I should actually make a little video it's so interesting to me the way that it comes off. Annnnyway, if you like tubing mascara this is a must try.

Monday Motivation

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE all of the people I'm living with on a tour bus, but when you suddenly have to work to be alone, you begin to appreciate it even more. Have a great week!
